I’m not big on calling out other brands unless I’m giving them a high five.
I hardly publicly mention what I REALLY feel about brands I hate. If I do, I’m careful not to mention their names. I have no interest in giving them more pub.
But it makes my skin itch every time someone compares what we do to Dove. They notice how we promote confidence and self love and right away they say, “oh like Dove.”
Then some folks will say “oh your products are for sensitive skin like Dove?”
Um HELL no.
What in the world is for sensitive skin in this group of ingredients?:
Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Tallowate Or Sodium Palmitate, Lauric Acid, Sodium Isethionate, Water, Sodium Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoate Or Sodium Palm Kernelate, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium Edta, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891)
Why oh WHY are these drying irritants called a Beauty Bar?
And about that confidence-
Dove is owned by Unilever. Yeah, the company that sells harmful bleaching products like “White Beauty” and “Fair and Lovely” to beautiful brown women in Africa and Asia.
Products that have ingredients that can lead to skin cancer and reproductive problems.
Products that promote self-hatred.
Really? Is THAT how we learn to accept our natural beauty and embrace confidence? By turning our hued skin white?
If you know us, you know we’re about promoting love, self-validation, and not having to change in order to get it.
We’re about giving you skin treats that are made with REAL ingredients.
Never will we tell you to accept your beauty and then turn around and tell you you’re ugly by pushing skin bleaching products down your throat.
We are NOT Dove.
